Description   Allows you to switch to Electric Only Mode and operate a Prius up to 34 MPH with increased efficiency. Toyota installs this programming in every Prius before it leaves the factory in Japan. EV Mode switch July 13, 2011 Reviewer: Richard Buiel from Northwood, NH United States   Instructions were clear and helpful and I completed the installation within 30 minutes.  I already average 52 mpg during the summer months, and 47 during the winter.  I've seen a 2-4 mpg improvement already for my commute to work.  Thank you! Excellent item August 28, 2009 Reviewer: tyoung75 from Cincinnati, OH United States   I'm not very mechanical, but this was easy to install.  Being able to run on electric up to 34mph (providing battery is charged), really helps your gas mileage average.  On my first tank of gas (after EV was installed), I'm averaging 51.2 mpg.  I've got a 2009 Prius. EV Mode Unit July 21, 2009 Reviewer: Earl Morse from Quincy, MA United States   I with the patient coaching of customer support installed one in my 2007. It works! Even when not in EV mode we see a 2 mpg increase in the overall mileage. Went from combined average of 51 mpg to 53 mpg. Was this review helpful to you?
